Physically, it is easier, than climbing of
Elbrus. There is only one place on the rout which can be difficult
(ice couluar under the Summit), but in the total the classical
rout to the summit of Kazbek is quite easy. As Elbrus, Kazbek is
also volcano, that is well appreciable from its characteristic
conic form. From former meteo station which is nowadays a climbing
shelter, the rout to the top is made in one day. Conditions are
extremely benevolent. There are some organizational problems
connected with getting of the Georgian visa, but it is only
technical problem. The program consists of 10 days including
acclimatization. Two variants of getting into the area - from
Vladicavkas and from Tbilisi. Tbilisi variant of the program is
considerably enriched by excursions, but is more expensive.
